Fiber assessment:
at 7 years of age -
AFD: 23.9 / SD: 4.9 / CV: 20.6 / >30: 9.0

Receta is a very nice Chilean import, with excellent conformation. Her fiber has very good density and an exceptional handle. She is a beautiful silver gray color, and is an excellent mom with plenty of milk.

Five of her nine babies have been girls, and seven of her nine babies have been black or gray. Her 2003 cria Gilda, a gorgeous dark silver gray Penumbra daughter, won a third place ribbon in a tough class at the GWAS, and then a blue ribbon at the AOBA spin-off out of 9 entries.
Her phenomenal rose gray 2004 son Lance has been awarded a blue and a red ribbon in halter classes as well.
Her 2005 cria, Avery, is another exceptional rose gray that will be making an impact on the east coast with his crias.
Her June, 2006 Penumbra cria, Delphi's Darcy, is an absolutely beautiful solid black girl.
Her 2007 cria is a phenomenal light brown boy from Golden Legacy - He has an incredible fleece! Watch for him in the 2008 shows. This cria is so exceptional we chose to repeat the breeding.

Receta has been worth her weight in silver to us. While an older girl, I value her highly due to her phenomenal production for us. Every one of her babies has been a star.

Delphi's Gilda Gray

Medium Silver Gray and True Black
ARI#: 1006407
DOB:  6-18-03
Dam:  Receta
Sire:  Penumbra
Breeding: Avatar - due June 2008
Fiber assessment:

Price: $45,000

Gilda is everything I was hoping for from Penumbra and Receta. She's a beautiful medium silver color with never a hint of rose tipping, good strong conformation, plus a perfect bite. Her fleece has very good density, crimpy character and excellent handle. A sweet girl, and what a beautiful face she has. Gilda would be a gem in anyone's breeding program.

Gilda won a third place ribbon in a large competitive halter class at the GWAS in Denver, and a blue ribbon in a class of 9 with her fleece at the 2005 AOBA National spin-off.

Bred to Patagonia's El Padre (the father of Black Herd Sire of the year Nishio, and Patagonia's Champion Rose gray Kaspa), Gilda gave us a beautiful silver daughter, Delphi's Nisha. Nisha is one of only two silver gray El Padre crias, of his 77 listed registered babies at the time of her birth.

Gilda is due with an Avatar cria for us in June that we are Very Excited to meet!

Delphi's Devamani

SOLD!

Dark Rose Gray National Color Champion
DOB:  8-24-04
Dam:  Amelia Braveheart
Sire:  Avatar
Breeding: Legend's Challenger - due February 2009
Fiber assessment:

Price: Sold!

"Devamani" is a jewel worn around the neck of Vishnu (or Avatar) - so I think of her as Avatar's jewel. Deva's mom Amelia is a solid maroon Bolivian girl, also born at Delphi. Deva has crimp from tip to root, very good density, and she is oh so soft. The picture above is of her father's fleece, with her fleece picture inserted within it. Like father like daughter! A beautiful head, perfect bite, solid conformation, great coverage - and just a sweet heart to be around.
Keep an eye on Deva if you are interested in the very best of the best, rose gray alpacas in the country.

At her first show at the Indianapolis Alpaca Futurity, she placed first in her class of rose gray juveniles - and then went on to win Reserve Champion Gray huacaya female. Then she brought home the Color Championship at both the level 5 Great Western Alpaca Show, and the National AOBA Show.
We are so pleased to have confirmation of the quality that Avatar is throwing in his babies.

Devamani's fleece won blue and Color Champion Fleece at the 2006 National Fleece Show in Louisville.
Bred to multi-champion Silver Celebration, Deva's had a beautiful solid true black girl with wonderful fleece. Watch for "Shavana" in the show ring in 2008.
Devamani is now breeding to Legend's Challenger; a multi-champion silver gray sire of champions.
Congratulations to Jim and Linda Stark of Alpacas of the Ark - the new owners of National Champion Delphi's Devamani! Deva was the high selling dark female huacaya alpaca at the 2008 Futurity Sale.

I never expected to offer Penumbra for sale, but in order to reduce the herd I have been forced to make tough decisions. This is undoubtedly the toughest. His most recent crias include Pan, a true black son of one of Delphi's best females, Misti Fire. Pan shows potential with a very soft crimpy fleece, solid conformation, and a gorgeous head. Pan placed 3rd in a class of 11 in his only juvenile showing, and his fleece is just starting to really show it's true character. Pan is now owned by Lighthouse Alpacas in PA.
We also have his daughter Gilda here to continue his legacy here at Delphi.
Penumbra is so reliable and wonderful to be around. This guy deserves the best, and he gives the best in return.

Penumbra has fine, crimpy black fiber with silver fibers running throughout. He has phenomenal fleece density, a gorgeous Accoyo head, and a perfect bite. He adds great density and crimp to his offspring, as well as his typey head. His daughter Hillary brought home a blue in a very competitive class at the GWAS in Denver 2004. Also, his daughter Penumbra's Persia, owned by Calidad Alpacas in New York, brought home one Color Championship and one Reserve Championship from her first two shows.

This guy is the spittin image of his full sister and National Fleece Color Champion, Appeline - only Levi is a shade lighter (Appeline is dark brown). He is very cute - with Appeline's teddy bear look. He is extremely soft and very dense with a wonderful handle, and very nice crimp. He is very correct. His sister won blue at GWAS in a class of 13 - then Color Champion at the National Fleece Show! Come visit us and see and feel his beautiful fleece in person at the National in Utah. DOB:  8-22-06
Dam:  Amelia Braveheart
Sire:  Avatar
Breeding: ATV Adonnis - due summer of 2009

Wow!
Avatar and Amelia have done it again.
Ava is a full sister to Devamani - our National and Futurity Champion.
Ava was awarded the gray Color Championship at the 2007 level 5 Great Western Alpaca Show by Kristin Buhrmann,
and then her fleece won Reserve Champion gray at the 2007 AOBA Nationals in Louisville! She also won Reserve Champion at the 2007 ABR Fall Fest Fleece Show. At the 2008 SWRAS in Arizona she was awarded Color Champion, and won a blue for her mom in produce of dam.
At level 5 GWAS 2008 - Ava received Reserve Champion - and won the bred and owned yearling class. Ava received another Blue at the 2008 Nationals - her final show.
She is now breeding to the renowned multi-National Champion Crescent Moon's ATV Adonnis.
We'll be watching for that baby in the summer of 2009 - Stay Tuned!

Ava is super fine and extremely dense with non-stop character and lovely luster. And what a big strong typey girl - she looks so much like her daddy! Plus she has his presence and attitude too - she knows she's a princess. What a foundation Avatar has given us with his daughters.

Delphi's Appeline

Dark Brown National Color Champion (fleece)
DOB:  8-19-06
Dam:  Ally May
Sire:  Avatar
Breeding: Legend's Challenger - due Summer 2009
Fiber assessment:
Pending
Price: NFS

This little one stole my heart from day one. I couldn't keep myself from touching her buttery fleece any chance I had - she has one of the softest handling fleeces I have ever had my hands on. She exhibits the high luster handle we emphasize in our herd - which Avatar is famous for. Add to that her adorable typey head, extreme coverage, and wonderful conformation - she's one of the best. In her juvenile shows she won a blue ribbon in a class of 13 at the level 5 Great Western Alpaca Show - and then her fleece won Color Champion at the 2007 Nationals in Louisville! She also won a blue ribbon at the 2007 ABR Fall Festival Fleece Show.
At the 2008 SWRAS Appeline won Reserve Champion in halter, and blue in the Bred and Owned Yearling class. She won a second at the 2008 Futurity - the toughest show in the country.
She was awarded 2nd at the 2008 level 5 GWAS, and 2nd in the bred and owned yearling class - beaten by her gray sister Ava!
At her last show - the National in Utah - she was awarded 2nd in a mixed light/med/dark brown class.
Now breeding to Legend's Challenger -
For a cria we are VERY excited about in the summer of 2009!

Smokin' Cinderella

Dark Gray
ARI#: 30443723
DOB:  8/18/2005
Dam:  Tell Smokin' Cinders
Sire:  Tell Hot Shot (son of NGG Lional, grand son of Bueno)
Breeding: Avatar
Fiber assessment:
2006: 22.4 / 4.2 / 18.8 / 5.1% >30
Price: NFS

This lady is just impossible to replace. She has silky, long, high luster fiber that exhibits the unusual gray coloration of her father, Tell Hot Shot. Hot Shot carries an unusual color gene. Often born fawn (like Cinderella), his crias may turn any variation of gray, sometimes with appaloosa spotting, during their first 6 months. This color trait is also closely associated with black - as Hot Shot throws black crias frequently as well.
Color aside - her fleece is also quite fine, with high frequency crimp. She has very high luster and exceptional staple length as well. I cannot wait to put this lady with Avatar and see what wonders they can produce.

Cinderella was chosen by my partner Rus as his foundation female - and who could blame him!
She's a rare gem and Miss Personality plus. She is currently bred to Avatar for a cria we are very excited about meeting in July of 2008 - Stay tuned . . . . ;^)

Delphi's Nisha

MSG
ARI#: 30443730
DOB:  10/12/2005
Dam:  Delphi's Gilda Gray
Sire:  El Padre (father of Nishio and Kaspa)
Breeding: Avatar - due April 2009
Fiber assessment:
2006: 21.5 / 5.3 / 24.7 / 5.6% >30
2007: 21.8 / 5.0 / 22.9 / 5.9% >30
Price: $25,000

Nisha is a gorgeous young lady - excellent conformation, strong bone and coverage, silky fine, crimpy fleece that has remained very fine. She has presence and is the best athlete in the pasture. She has very small light stars in her otherwise dark brown eyes. A 1/2 sister to Patagonia's Nishio and Kaspa - and from a silver daughter by our 1/2 Accoyo black Penumbra - we just think - Wow.
Serious potential!!! Plus she's a sweet girl - a joy to have in the pasture.

Show results for Nisha's two showings in 2006, at just over 6 months of age.
She placed 5th at The Futurity, out of a large class of 11 of the top silver gray juveniles in the country. Then she showed 2 weeks later at the Great Western Alpaca Show in Denver - another level 5 Show - placing 2nd. Mike Safly said she was the finest alpaca in her class at GWAS. I am very happy with her placings and with the judges comments about her; and extremely excited about her potential as a producing mom.

Nisha is bred now to Avatar for a cria for you next spring. This is one of our very best bred to the very best - it'll be hard to see Nisha go!
She is priced to sell - this is a girl you can't help but fall in love with.

Smokin Cinders, Tell

Sire:  Sussx' Desert Rose

2006: at 9 years of age:
AFD 24.5 / 5.8 / 23.7 / 14.9% >30

Cinders (pictured on the left) is a strong solid silver lady. Her fleece has maintained it's fineness as she has matured. Cinders delivered a beautiful fawn / indefinite light boy named Tommy in July of 2006. Tommy is a son of a wonderful fawn Peruvian male, and has wonderful fleece, a very typey young man. Tommy has been sold.
Cinders has had many other wonderful crias - we have one of her daughters, Smokin' Cinderella, in our foundation herd. Cinderella is simply irresistable and impossible to replace. Cinderella transformed into a very dark rose and silver/black lady when she was shorn!

Cinders also had lovely rose gray "Jazzanne" (pictured here on the right with Cinder's granddaughter Baby Jazz), and a crimpy dark eyed white male cria "Rigel".

Cinder's was bred to Champion rose gray Avatar in mid-September, and is due mid-August 2008.
Avatar is no longer available for outside breedings. His breedings are valued at $5000. This is a great way to have an Avatar baby at a very reasonable cost, in what will likely be a lovely gray cria for you next year.

Cinders sells with a full reproductive guarantee.

Misti Fire

SOLD!

Light brown / medium rose grey
ARI#: 30443563
DOB:  9/23/03
Dam:  Honey 21CEJ (Peruvian Don Julio granddaughter)
Sire:  Tickity Boo Dino (Black from 2 grey parents)
Breeding: Avatar - due September 2008
Fiber assessment:
2007: 23.8 / 5.1 / 21.4 / 7.4% >30
Price: SOLD

This is one of our Dino's daughters - and I am so happy to have had the opportunity to add her to my herd. While she appears light brown, I have listed her as brown and rose gray - but I really have no idea how she would color check if shown these days. She has a great deal of silver fibers mixed into her fleece - especially her neck. The back of her top knot and chest are a true rose gray, with all colors mixed in, including black and silver. Her dad is a black with quite a bit of silver in his own fleece - and his parents are both gray. Her mom is a fawn from a black dam.

Misti has a phenomenal fleece - EXTREMELY dense and Very fine - She's the kind you look long and hard for and rarely find. She was bred to Xanadu farms' Barnabus for her 2007 baby, Tacey. Tacey is pictured here and What A Doll! A fawn with excellent fleece, conformation, typiness - everything we hoped for. Misti has done herself proud again. We can't wait to see what she and Avatar can do!

Delphi's Tacey

Light Fawn
DOB:  10-3-07
Dam:  MistiFire - from black and gray & Don Julio!
Sire:  Maple Brook Barnabus - 3/4 Accoyo
Breeding: Maiden - sells with transferable breeding to Avatar
Fiber assessment:

Price: $17,500

3/8 Accoyo, Tacey is truly exceptional - super typey, straight heavy bone and coverage - and covered with tons of super fine curly fleece. When we bred Misti to Barnabus - one of the best producing white males in the country, we were hoping for just exactly what Misti has given us - a superb colored girl with phenomenal fleece and Misti's dark color genetics (Misti's dad Dino is black from gray parents). Misti has one of the best quality fleeces on the farm, super dense, fine and crimpy. We expected a wonderful baby from Barnabus and here she is.

Tacey has what I can't help but call perfect conformation, super typey coverage and head, heavy bone, a perfect bite. Plus she is a fleece machine - tons of super dense fine fleece! She was awarded 3rd place at the Level 5 GWAS - one of the largest shows in the country. Come see her at the Nationals in Utah!

Barnabus's breeding fee is $3500 now - he has well proven his worth with his Champion babies and Get of Sire wins. How excited we are at the thought of breeding this lovely lady to our colored boys!

Tacey sells with a breeding to Avatar, or any Delphi herd sire. If you'd like - you may elect to breed Tacey to your own herd sire and choose another of your females to breed to Avatar.
