Our alpaca business began in 1993 with three female
alpacas. I had been a Veterinary Technician for 10 years, and was hoping
to find a livestock business that would allow me to move out of
the city and spend more time at home. The
alpacas have done just that.
We have continually refined our breeding goals as
we have gained experience and as the industry has matured.
Our herd is comprised of primarily black, gray and fawn alpacas.
Our goal is to create excellent fleece in the more unusual
colors, without sacrificing conformation.
We enjoy showing our alpacas, and are always shopping for
the next perfect herd sire that will add just the right qualities
to our females and best help us to reach our goals.
Eleven months is an eternity to see if the genetic dice have rolled
the way we had hoped, but when they do it's worth the wait!
The babies are the reason that we will always have alpacas;
it is impossible to have a bad day after being nuzzled by a brand
new baby paca.
